Our goals are
- To provide a caring, nurturing, safe and happy environment where children
feel secure and their physical well-being is protected and enhanced.
- To develop the whole child through a programme which promotes social,
emotional, physical, language and cognitive development.
- To foster children's self esteem using praise and by encouraging and
acknowledging their efforts and achievements.
- To develop and encourage children's independence through the promotion
of self help skills.
- To encourage positive interactions between children promoting
co-operative behaviour and respect for other people's feelings, needs and
rights.
- To guide children in a positive manner, assisting them to deal with
frustrations and negative feelings in an appropriate manner and to take
responsibility for their own actions.
- To encourage children to think, question, problem solve, experiment
and reason by providing a wide range of materials, activities and
experiences.
- To welcome parent involvement, both formally and informally, in the centre
and the programme. To keep parents fully informed about daily events and
their child's ongoing development.
- To plan and present activities for the individual child. The aim is to
extend her/his interest, enhance skills and assist in developing each
child's full potential.
- To encourage good nutritional habits.
- To promote and encourage good hygiene and safety practices.
- To develop an awareness and appreciation of, and respect for, each
family's culture and background.
- To ensure that all children are treated equally and have equal access to
activities.
